Upgraded version of SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) provide network configuration. Provide interface for:

Monitoring
Configuring
Managing network devicesa

It used YANG as the configuration language, in contrast to MIB (Management Information Base) which was used by SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
